Mockingbird with Orange Eyes 8x10 300 dpi

This photo was a surprise in San Antonio at my feeders. Why? Mockingbirds don't visit my feeders often, but that wasn't the quandary. This species only has yellow eyes, or so I thought. I was surprised to find that they have been reported, rarely, to have orange eyes. This is a lovely portrait of a Mockingbird's head, but it is also a rarity because this one had orange eyes.
